GUT Publication Award

The Graduate Center of Trier University (GUT) has been awarding the publication award annually since 2012.

Doctoral students and postgraduates at Trier University can submit scientific publications that meet the application criteria.

Faculty-internal juries evaluate the publications according to research performance, relevance and originality. One publication award is awarded per department, each endowed with 500 euros. In addition, there is a special award for the best presentation in the form of a short lecture worth a further 500 euros. This presentation award will be awarded during the award ceremony, where the six prizewinners will present their award-winning publications in entertaining 7-minute short talks. The audience then chooses the winner of the presentation in a secret ballot. The presentation is part of the competition and therefore obligatory for the award winners.

Please note! The publication award is a great opportunity for doctoral candidates to show the university that they are making a significant contribution to research at Trier University. Of course, the award winners benefit personally from the award, as it demonstrates the high quality of their academic achievements and is therefore a great addition to any CV.

Suspension of the Publication Award 2025

Due to a reorganization of the content, the GUT Publication Award will be paused in 2025. Accordingly, the application deadline will be canceled this year. Information on the reorganization and continuation of the publication prize will be announced on this website.
