University of the Greater Region (UniGR)
UniGr is a network consisting of six universities (the University of Trier, Saarland, Kaiserslautern, Luxembourg, Liège and Lorraine), all of which are located in the border region of the Greater Region. Together, this university network pursues the goal of facilitating cross-border research and study in order to actively contribute to the realization of a European Union and the reduction of borders.
As Trier University is part of UniGr, you can also benefit from the services and support of this network: As a doctoral student at Trier University, you also have the opportunity to enrol at the UniGr partner universities. In this way, you can make use of the courses on offer there and the library. You can also attend a large number of doctoral courses at the partner universities. Your doctorate can also be given a European dimension by obtaining a “Cotutelle de thèse” or the “European Doctorate of the University of the Greater Region”. The UniGr also supports the organization of scientific events with a cross-border character.
