DocColloq – Interdisciplinary colloquium by PhD candidates for PhD candidates
What is the DocColloq colloquium?
The DocColloq colloquium is an initiative by doctoral candidates for doctoral candidates at Trier University, which is supported by the Graduate Centre (GUT).
After a somewhat longer break, the colloquium will take place regularly again from January 2024, organised by the new contact person Lea Muller.
The aim of the colloquium is to give doctoral students the opportunity to present extracts from their research. In contrast to specialist conferences, the audience is interdisciplinary and is still at the beginning of their academic career, so the event offers you a protected space to present research projects and gain initial presentation and conference experience. You can use DocColloq to present your dissertation project, present new papers or outlines of articles, rehearse presentations for conferences or practise your disputation. It doesn't matter what stage of your doctorate you are in or what subject you are doing your doctorate in - DocColloq is open to all doctoral candidates at the university.
When does the DocColloq colloquium take place?
We would like to organise the format of the event according to your needs. The duration of a presentation should be about 20-30 minutes, followed by a discussion round.
If you would like to present something, please contact Lea Muller with a request and discuss a possible date. Once the date has been agreed, the event will be advertised via the university's e-mail distribution list.
We look forward to organising the DocColloq to meet your needs!
