Doctoral Student Representation
The doctoral student representatives are elected annually by the doctoral students' general assembly, consist of doctoral students from all departments and represent the student body in the Graduate Center Council, among other things. You can view the elected representatives for the current term of office are listed on our homepage.
As part of interdisciplinary networking, meetings, writing weeks and other events aimed at all doctoral students are organized by the doctoral student representatives.
Doctoral student pub crawls
The second pub crawl for doctoral students took place on Wednesday, October 23 2024. Following on from the successful debut last semester, the tour was continued.
Visiting various pubs and restaurants, we chatted about the doctorate, university life and everything else in a relaxed atmosphere. All faculties of Trier University were represented, which allowed people to get to know each other across departments. As in the previous semester, we are delighted with the great interest and active participation of the doctoral students. Due to the great response to the previous pub crawls, we will continue to organize them! Until then, more get-togethers for doctoral students are planned, so stay tuned!

Successful get-together for doctoral candidates with coffee and cake!
Our get-together for doctoral candidates at Trier University took place on Thursday, October 19 2023 in the university's guest room. Following on from the summer barbecue in May, doctoral students from all departments met to discuss their projects and network over coffee, homemade cake and games. From the doctoral student representatives' point of view, the get-together was a complete success. As the feedback from the participants was consistently positive and ideas for future activities for doctoral students were diligently collected, the next meeting is already being planned! Look forward to it!

On Thursday, October 27, 2022, doctoral candidates from all departments met in the guest room at Trier University for a joint networking meeting. In a cozy atmosphere, the participants talked about their doctoral projects, working at the university and other topics from everyday doctoral life. Over a cool drink and snacks, colleagues from different departments got to know each other and exchanged ideas. At the end of the evening, one thing was certain: this would not be the last meeting!

Networking meeting for doctoral candidates with a successful continuation!
On Wednesday, January 18, 2023, the second networking meeting for doctoral candidates took place at the Studihaus barbecue area. In a cozy atmosphere with a campfire, mulled wine and cool drinks, the colleagues got to know each other across departments and exchanged ideas about their doctoral projects, working conditions at the university and other topics. Following the success of the previous networking meeting, the evening was a successful continuation. Due to the great feedback from the doctoral students, the doctoral student representatives are happy to announce that the networking meeting will go into series!

Summer barbecue at the networking meeting for doctoral students!
On Thursday, May 25, 2023, the third networking meeting for doctoral students took place at the Campus II barbecue area. With plenty of sunshine and summery temperatures, there was lots of laughter, chatting, barbecuing and, of course, making new contacts over cool drinks. The doctoral student representatives would like to thank the Dean's Office and the student council of Faculty VI for their support. Stay tuned!
