Alpha taxonomic problems of the Atelopus (Anura: Bufonidae) from the Western Cordillera Colombia
Description: The toads of the genus Atelopus are distributed from Costa Rica to Bolivia and the Guiana Shield, despite this genus comprises of about 100 species are among the most threatened vertebrates, in most cases due the Chytrid fungus that kill them in their natural environment, deforestation and illegal trade. This project aims to solve phylogenetic relationships among the species of toads of the genus Atelopus distributedfrom the Western Cordillera from Colombia using as source of evidence morphology, larvae, osteology, historical DNA among others.
