Ausscreibung: BA/MA in Psychologie - "Identifying neural predictors of the acute stress response"

Gesucht werden Abschlussarbeitsschreiber im Fach Psychologie, die uns im Rahmen des Projekts zu "Neural predictors of the acute stress response" unterstützen und Einblicke in die Neurokognitive- und Stressforschung erhalten möchten.

In diesem Projekt untersuchen wir, ob elektrophysiologische Messungen des Gehirns dazu geeignet sind, die individuelle Reaktion auf akuten psychosozialen Stress vorherzusagen. Mithilfe einer Hirnstrom (EEG)-Aufzeichnung untersuchen wir die neuronalen Prozesse sowohl im Ruhezustand als auch während kognitiven Aufgaben, welche durch Stress beeinflusst werden. Weiterhin untersuchen wir den Einfluss von psychischem Stress auf kognitive Funktionen wie Aufmerksamkeit. Themen mit und ohne EEG sind möglich.

Beispiele für BA-/MA-Themen :

• Der Einfluss von Stress auf die Aufmerksamkeits-Bias für bedrohungsrelevante Reize; 
• Die Zusammenhang zwischen Aufmerksamkeits-Bias und Aufmerksamkeitskontrolle;
• Die Zusammenhang zwischen Aufmerksamkeitskontrolle und Stressreaktion;
• EEG-Markers der Stressreaktion;
• EEG-Messungen der Aufmerksamkeitskontrolle

Die Zeiteinteilung ist flexibel und richtet sich nach den Erhebungsphasen des Projekts. Der Beginn ist ab Ende-Januar möglich.

We  are looking for psychology students who would like to be involved in the project "Neural predictors of the acute stress response".

In this project, you will have the opportunity to gain insights into neurocognitive and stress research. We investigate whether electrophysiological measurements of the brain have potential for predicting the individual response to acute psychosocial stress. We record the electrical activity of the brain (EEG) to examine neural processes both at rest and during cognitive tasks which are influenced by stress. Furthermore, we study the influence of stress on cognitive functions such as attention. Topics with and without EEG are possible.

Examples of BA/MA topics:

• The influence of stress on attentional bias to threat
• The relationship between attentional bias and attentional control
• The association between attentional control and the stress response
• EEG markers of the stress response
• EEG measurements of attentional control

The timeframe is flexible and also depends on the data collection phases of the project. It is possible to start from the end of January.
