Institutes and Centers
The Department of Computational Linguistics and Digital Humanities is organized into several specialized institutes and centers:
- Chair of Computational Linguistics: Focus on language processing, machine learning, and applied linguistics.
- Chair of Digital Humanities: Interdisciplinary research at the intersection of technology and the humanities.
- Chair of Digital Lexicography: Research on digital dictionaries, corpus and internet linguistics, as well as conversation and text linguistics, with emphases on medical communication and contrastive grammar.
- Trier Center for Digital Humanities: A central research institution at the University of Trier, specializing in digital editions, lexicography, software systems, and digital cultural studies with internationally recognized standards and methods.
Positions
The Department of Computational Linguistics and Digital Humanities offers a variety of positions covering diverse roles and responsibilities in research, teaching, and project work:
- Professors guide the academic development of the department and supervise research projects as well as students.
- Lecturers design courses and deliver both theoretical and practical knowledge.
- Research associates support research and teaching and are often involved in externally funded projects.
- Doctoral candidates conduct their own research projects and contribute to the advancement of academic knowledge.
