Call for Papers

The International Conference on Collaboration Technologies and Social Computing (CollabTech) is an established international forum for researchers and practitioners interested in the design, development, evaluation, and use of collaboration technologies and social computing systems. Building on the success of previous editions, CollabTech 2026 will be held on September 22–24, 2026 in Trier, Germany, and will continue the tradition of bringing together an interdisciplinary community from computer science, information systems, social sciences, and related fields.

Collaboration technologies play an increasingly important role in supporting cooperative work, social interaction, and collective action in a wide range of contexts, including organizations, communities, education, healthcare, and public services. Recent advances in areas such as data analytics, artificial intelligence, and interactive systems are further transforming how collaboration is enabled and experienced. CollabTech 2026 aims to provide a high-quality venue for presenting and discussing novel research results, system designs, theoretical models, and empirical studies that contribute to a deeper understanding of collaboration and social computing and inform the development of effective, humancentered collaboration technologies.

Topics of Interest

The conference solicits original, unpublished contributions addressing theoretical, methodological, technical, and applied aspects of collaboration technologies and social computing. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaboration technologies and computer-supported cooperative work (CSCW)
  • Social computing and social media for collaboration
  • Design, development, and evaluation of collaborative system
  • Human-centered design and user experience in collaborative environments
  • Awareness, coordination, and communication support
  • Data-driven and AI-supported collaboration systems
  • Collective intelligence and collaborative sense-making
  • Collaboration in organizations, communities, and networks
  • Technologies for maintaining, monitoring and supporting online communities
  • Remote, hybrid, and distributed collaboration
  • Collaborative learning and educational technologies (CSCL)
  • Collaboration technologies for healthcare, crisis response, and public services
  • Social, ethical, and organizational aspects of collaboration technologies
  • Empirical studies, field studies, and case studies of collaborative systems
  • Human-AI collaborating systems

Submissions

All submissions will be peer-reviewed by members of the international Program Committee. Authors should submit their contributions using the EasyChair platform: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=collabtech2026, and prepare the document according to Springer LNCS: https://www.springer.com/gp/computer-science/lncs/conference-proceedings-guidelines.

CollabTech 2026 invites the following types of submissions:

  • Full Papers (9-16 pages), presenting mature research contributions
  • Work-in-Progress Papers (5-8 pages), describing ongoing or exploratory research
  • Short Papers and Posters (1-5 pages), reporting early-stage ideas, prototypes, or position papers

All submissions will be peer-reviewed by members of the international Program Committee.

Publication

Accepted papers will be published in the Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series. At least one author of each accepted paper must register for the conference and present the paper.
