Schwerpunkte in der Forschung

Die Untersuchung der Abflussentstehung sowie von Bodenerosionsprozessen auf unterschiedlichen Skalen,
die Methodenentwicklung um diese zu verstehen, zu beobachten und zu quantifizieren.

Ich bewege mich hierzu im Mediterranraum -von den semi-ariden Steppenlandschaften bis hin zu den Quellgebieten der Flüsse- bis hin zu den gemäßigten Breiten, von extensivierten Ackerflächen über Wälder bis zu den Intensivkulturen des Steillagenweinbaus.

Schwerpunkte in der Lehre

Ich bringe den Studierenden in Proseminaren die Grundlagen der Physischen Geographie näher. Ebenso mache ich die BSc-Studierenden in Lehrforschungsprojekten mit den Methoden der Geländearbeit, der Auswertung von Daten und den Tücken der selbstständigen Arbeit bekannt.

Auf Exkursionen in der näheren Umgebung sowie in weit entfernten Zielen bringe ich, gemeinsam mit den KollegInnen, den Studierenden bei, den Blick für die gesamte Geographie zu schärfen.

Ich betreue zahlreiche Abschlussarbeiten (Bachelor und Master) gemeinsam mit KollegInnen der Physischen Geographie, der Bodenkunde, der Geologie und der Didaktik der Geographie.
