Canadian Studies: Free Electives/Certificate Programme

Interested in Canada? Join our Canadian Studies classes!

If you are interested in Canada, why not profit from our classes in Canadian Studies? They cover a wide variety of topics from literature and language (both in English and French) to history and culture. Canadian Studies offers you a valuable additional qualification to your regular degree programme.

Want to join?

Canadian Studies are offered to both students with or without free electives (Freier Wahlbereich). You can study one or two modules of 10 credits each from an interdisciplinary range of lectures and seminars.

• Free electives (Freier Wahlbereich)

If your MA-degree programme includes free electives (Freier Wahlbereich), the modules Canadian Studies I and Canadian Studies II will count towards your free electives. If you complete both modules, Canadian Studies will be shown on your final degree. More information here.

• Canadian Studies Certificate

If your degree programme does not include free electives (Freier Wahlbereich), as is the case e.g. with teacher trainings programmes (Lehramt), you can still take classes in Canadian Studies. Completing both modules Canadian Studies I and II will earn you a separate certificate issued by the dean’s office. More information on how to enrol here.
