We are delighted to announce that Prof Charmaine A. Nelson from the University of Massachusetts Amherst will give a guest lecture on June 20th.
The topic is: ”send him in safe custody to the Gaol of Montreal“: Enslaved Fugitives, Jails, and Workhouses in late Eighteenth- and Early Nineteenth-Century Nova Scotia and Jamaica. “

”“Canadian Literature - Themes and Identities“ (12251206) will focus on exploring the central themes of Canadian identity and examining their depiction in literary works. We will read several short stories, Brother by David Chariandy and The Handmaid‘s Tale by Margaret Atwood.“

Konrad Adenauer Visiting Scholarship on Transatlantic Relations 2024
The Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) Canada is having a call for applications for the 2024 Konrad Adenauer Visiting Scholarship on Transatlantic Relations. The Konrad Adenauer Visiting Scholarship on Transatlantic Relations is a joint initiative by the Centre for European Studies (CES) at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada and KAS Canada. It supports a visiting scholarship at Carleton University in the Fall Term of each year (September to December).
