Treatment Procedure
Registration
You can register by telephone at our psychotherapy outpatient clinic. You can find the contact details and current consultation times here. To begin with, we will take your personal details and inform you about our treatment options over the phone. If you are still interested in a personal consultation in our psychotherapy outpatient clinic, we will add you to our waiting list and contact you as soon as an initial consultation in our psychotherapy outpatient clinic is possible. The waiting times for a personal consultation with our licensed psychotherapists depend on the current requests and can therefore vary greatly.
Psychotherapeutic consultation and diagnostics
Before your first psychotherapeutic consultation, you will receive a detailed questionnaire about your current state of mind. We ask you to complete this questionnaire and bring it with you to your first appointment. There will be a total of three psychotherapeutic consultations, during which we will understand your concerns and would like to get to know you better. In the first session, you will have the opportunity to describe your current symptoms and provide initial information about your life circumstances. In the second psychotherapeutic consultation, we will conduct a standardized diagnostic interview with you and ask you specific questions about various problem areas. In the third session, we bring together the information gathered from the first two sessions and the questionnaire diagnostics and decide together with you whether and which treatment option is suitable for you. Due to our very specific range of treatments, we may refer you to other colleagues. We always endeavor to offer you a continuous range of treatments in our psychotherapy outpatient clinic. In some cases, however, there may be no treatment places available at the moment and you may only be able to start treatment after a delay.
Probationary sessions and psychobiological stress diagnostics
As soon as a need for psychotherapeutic treatment has been determined after the psychotherapeutic consultation and a treatment place is available with us, you can take advantage of 4 trial sessions. These are so-called “probationary” sessions (trial sessions) in which we explore your current complaints in depth and work with you to create an individual treatment plan. In contrast to other psychotherapeutic practices, we offer detailed psychobiological stress diagnostics during this phase of treatment. For this purpose, we ask you to collect saliva samples after every 2 sessions over a period of 2 days and to record your heart rate using an ECG sensor. We will then discuss your individual stress diagnosis with you and also use this information for a treatment plan tailored to you.
Psychotherapeutic treatment
After the probationary sessions, we can apply for psychotherapeutic treatment from your health insurance company if required. We always apply for short-term therapy with 12 sessions, which can be extended by a second short-term therapy if necessary. If indicated, it may also be necessary to convert to long-term therapy with up to 60 sessions. In most cases, the offer of short-term therapy is sufficient. During psychotherapeutic treatment, we support you in uncovering dysfunctional ways of thinking and behaving, questioning your own beliefs and developing new ways of thinking and behaving in line with your therapy goals. Our focus is always on stress and coping with stress, so that in addition to individual psychotherapeutic treatment, we also provide you with detailed information on the subject of stress. This also includes repeated psychobiological stress diagnostics, which take place during and at the end of the short-term therapy.
