VR study for adolescents
The Department of Biological and Clinical Psychology is conducting a VR study to investigate perception and behavior in a virtual reality environment in adolescence. We are looking for children and adolescents between the ages of 14 and 18. We want to find out how these adolescents react in a virtual environment on different levels such as the behavioral, emotional, cognitive and hormonal level. More information can be found below.
Age group: 14 to 18 years
Duration: 1x (maximum) 2 hours in the lab + approx. 1 hour questionnaires from home, plus 1x telephone call approx. 15 minutes

How does the study work?

- As soon as we have your consent, we will be happy to arrange an appointment for the screening phone call with your child.
- The screening telephone call is intended to clarify possible exclusion criteria; if none apply, we will arrange an appointment with you for the test in our laboratory.
- Your child will then complete an online questionnaire at home.
- The appointment will take place in the Department of Biological and Clinical Psychology at Johanniterufer 15 in 54290 Trier.
- Eight saliva samples and an ECG will be collected; the ECG device will be attached by a female supervisor and is completely risk-free and consequence-free. All data collected will be treated confidentially and stored internally on a secure server. Your child's personal data is stored separately from the data collected and is also treated confidentially.

- As a thank you for taking part, your child will receive compensation of 40 euros at the end of the study
What are the requirements for participation?
- Your child is between 14 and 18 years old at the time of the survey
- Your child attends school
- Your child speaks German at a good to native level
