Robert E. Fay

Robert E. Fay is Senior Statistician at the Westat, Member of the Statistics Canada's Advisory Committee on Statistical Methods and Member of the Election Night Decision Team for CNN. Prior to working within Westat he was a Senior Mathematical Statistician at the USCensus Bureau, which he joined in 1974.

Dr. Robert Fay published several major articles and is best known for his influencing 1974 publication with Roger Herriot introducing the standard area level model in small area estimation. He received several awards, such as the 2005 Roger Herriot Award for Innovation in Federal Statistics and the Gold Medal Award of the Department of Commerce in 1999.
