Examination Regulations

Registration and Deregistration for Examinations
Students must always register for examinations themselves via PORTA. The registration period for written and oral exams is typically available six to four weeks before the exam date. The deregistration period usually ends two weeks before the exam. For written assignments such as term papers or portfolios, registration is often possible up until the submission deadline.

Final Thesis
- General Information
- Processing time: 4 months (Bachelor), 6 months (Master)
- Length: Highly variable, depending on the chosen topic and type of presentation; recommended:
- Bachelor thesis: 30 +/- 15 pages
- Master thesis: 60 +/- 30 pages (always in consultation with the first supervisor)
- Registration: Information on registering the thesis can be found at the HPA (University Examination Office).
- Submission: The thesis must be bound and submitted in triplicate to the HPA mailbox in the V-building.
- The Bachelor/Master Examination Regulations (APO) contain the regulations for theses under APO §15.

- Topic Change:
"The candidate may only return a topic once and only within the first two weeks of the processing time. In this case, the new topic must be assigned within four weeks." APO §15(3)
