Topic Suggestions
We offer a small selection of topics for bachelor's and master's theses. The list is not complete, the topics are exemplary. Perhaps you are interested in a combination of different topics, or the descriptions can serve as a basis for your own topic suggestions. You will find a new suggestion for work of various orientations here.
Bachelor Theses
A bachelor thesis is written at the end of the bachelor's program. It represents the skills acquired during the program to work on a problem scientifically and independently. Particular emphasis is placed on the written elaboration. The examination consists of the actual written work and an oral colloquium.
Credit points (for B.Sc.)
- 12 points for the written report
- 3 points for the oral colloquium
Main Topics at the Chair
You can develop, test, improve, implement, study algorithms.
Of course, you can also perform more formal or mathematical studies.
Have a look at our latest publications to get an impression of our recent research interests.
Or have a look at the finished student projects (bachelor or master theses).
Specific Topic Suggestions
- from the area of complexity theory: reductions for the exponential time hypothesis
- Implementation of the GENMODEL algorithm or other learning algorithms
For B.Ed. fewer credit points are provided. Didactically oriented work that we would like to supervise could be based on the Matheprisma project.
Master Theses
In principle, what has been said wrt. bachelor theses holds here, as well. However, as the project time is longer and the students have more background, we expect more in-depth studies.
