Didactics of Philosophy (Dr. Erdmann Görg)
Philosophical positions are often abstract and not always easy to understand. Accessing them is the subject of philosophical studies. But how can the developed theories be brought closer to students in a lifelike way? The task of philosophical didactics is to answer this question. It thus builds a bridge between the philosophy of the subject and everyday school life. In order to optimally prepare prospective teachers for their future teaching, the philosophical didactics program at the University of Trier places particular emphasis on the connection between theoretical didactic reflection and teaching practice.
A research focus of philosophy didactics at Trier is particularly on questions of interculturality and the comparative juxtaposition of positions in European philosophy and the philosophy of the Islamic world. Several ongoing projects aim to expand the existing teaching canon beyond the peripheral canon in a problem-oriented and comparative manner, thus highlighting parallels and connections between the two traditions in everyday school life.
