Master's thesis: Emotional Load Index

Early psychosocial stressors - such as abuse or neglect- are well-documented risk factors for long-term mental and physical health problems. Individual factors such as sensitivity and emotional support play a central role in processing such experiences. The planned validation study investigates whether the Emotional Load Index (ELI) is suitable as a compact and theoretically sound questionnaire for reliably mapping individual emotional stress. The ELI was developed by author Vivian Dittmar and captures three key influencing factors: intensity of emotional experiences, personal sensitivity, and perceived emotional support

The aim of the study is to examine the psychometric quality, theoretical plausibility, and practical applicability of the ELI. In addition to construct validity, external and convergent validity as well as potential predictive correlations with resilience, psychological stress, and personality traits will also be analyzed.
