Seminar for LL.-M.- and ERASMUS students

It is the purpose of seminars to introduce students to independent research. Seminars are therefore mostly run by the students themselves.  Each participant will agree to give a paper on a certain subject. The paper must first be presented in written form (about 15 pages). After submission of the paper, each participant is required to give an oral presentation based on their paper. The oral presentation will be followed by a discussion on the subject of the paper among all participants (and the chair). Students will receive a grade based both on the paper and their oral presentation.

The seminar is intended specifically for foreign students who come to Trier either as ERASMUS students or as participants in the LL.-M.-Programme. The topics for seminar papers will be chosen from the core areas of private law. ERASMUS students can acquire 10 ECTS credit points by successfully participating in the seminar. LL.-M. students fulfill the requirement of participation in a seminar under § 4 of the Magisterordnung.

Oral presentations will probably take place in January or February 2009. No exact date has been set yet.  It is likely that we will meet on a riday and the following Saturday (e. g. January 30/31). Details regarding participation in the seminar, the allocation of topics for individual papers and the date for oral presentations will be announced here as soon as possible.
