Eva-Maria Windberger is a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer in the English Department, which she joined in June 2015. She studied English, Philosophy, and Education at the Universities of Trier and Cambridge. In her PhD thesis, completed in 2020, she investigated the functions and strategies of empowerment in David Mitchell’s novels. Her current research project focuses on the performativity of East Asian identities on the British stage and the role of British East Asian playwrights in contemporary theatre. She is part of the interdisciplinary research initiative “Transkulturalität und ihre Grenzen” at Trier University.
