The influence of aptitude on attainment of phonology in Second Language Acquisition
The focus of the project is to test non-verbal intelligence and working memory as correlates of aptitude for second language acquisition. The linguistic phenomena at the core of the study are emphatic and contrastive stress which will be tested with regards to production as well as perception. In addition to the aforementioned potential correlates, some aspects of the Geschwind-Galaburda hypothesis are being examined by means of a questionnaire.
