Dr Bettina Kraft

Bettina Kraft joined the Department in October 2009. She studied English, French, and General Linguistics at the University of Münster, where she obtained her MA. She then went on to do research on conflict discourse in service encounters and received a PhD in Interactional Sociolinguistics from the University of Southampton.

In previous positions she has taught English linguistics at the Universities of Bonn and Münster. She has also worked as a teacher of German linguistics and German as a Foreign language at the Universities Southampton and Reading.

Her main teaching interests are in the areas of applied linguistics and sociolinguistics.
