The Bachelor's programme in Psychology leads to a Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) in Psychology in six semesters of standard study time, which is professionally qualifying and a prerequisite for admission to a Master's programme. It is a general (polyvalent) Bachelor's programme that provides a broad introduction to the entire field of psychology with its basic and applied subjects.
From the winter semester 2020/21, the degree programme also covers the contents of the new licensing regulations for psychotherapists (PsychThApprO) and is recognised by professional law to enable our students to be admitted to the licensing exam in psychotherapy. The prerequisite for this is the selection of the corresponding mandatory courses by the students.
Successful completion of the Bachelor's programme enables you to choose to work in professional practice, to start a general (polyvalent) Master's programme in Psychology, which prepares you for a wide range of psychological fields of work, or to specialise in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy. A Master's programme in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, which concludes with a licence to practise psychotherapy, is currently in concrete preparation in Trier and is to be offered in the future in addition to the general Master's programme in Psychology.
General information on the psychology programme at the University of Trier can be found here. You will find a video that gives you an impression of psychology in Trier, contact persons for various questions as well as information about the university and the city.
