Test subjects hours

Students are continuously looking for test subjects for their projects and final theses. To ensure that there are always enough test subjects available, each student in the bachelor’s programme must participate in studies amounting to 30 hours (1800 minutes). Only study participation at the University of Trier is recognised.

It is a solidarity-based procedure: You make yourself available to other students as a test subject so that other students will make themselves available to your projects as well.

As of the 1st of January 2018, the new test subject management system "SONA" will be activated. All relevant information can be found here:

We strongly recommend that you acquire the test subject hours in the first two semesters of your studies, because only first-year students can participate in many studies and because you will hardly find the time to do so in the final phase of your studies.

Please note: As of the 1st of April 2020, 40 test subject hours must be presented when registering the Bachelor’s thesis.

The change in the regulation was jointly developed and agreed by the Psychology Examination Board, the Head of the Psychology degree programme and the Psychology Student Council.

We recommend planning the provision of the subject hours early so that the registration of the Bachelor's thesis is not delayed.
