Module 4: Hungarian, Catalan, Welsh

The word telephone may just be a loanword and say nothing about whether these languages are related. The Turkish word yogurt in English does not prove that English and Turkish are related, and actually they aren't.

What type of words would you look for to establish if languages are related or not? Which semantic fields would you look for and which word classes would you look for? What else, besides vocabulary, may be taken as evidence?
