Fieldwork in Taiwan October: 07.10.2024 – 23.10.2024
On October 09, she met with Director Eva Langerbeck from the German (AHK) and Journalist working on Taiwan’s Green Energy transition and German Cooperation, who is also nominated to the DTDP, LIU Kwuan Yin.
She also met with Dr. Huang Wende from the NCL on the same day to discuss her research and further cooperation. During her stay in Taipei, she also interviewed Prof. Jiang Hong-mao from the College of Engineering, National Taiwan University (NTU), to learn about Ocean Engineering and his involvement in the T-Stone.

On that occasion, she got the chance to visit the research facility for floating wind energy.
Regarding her research interest in Green Energy Transition, she followed the recommendation to visit the Wetlands of Gaomei at Taichung to observe sustainability progress in that protected area as a response to 21st -centuries megatrends in Taiwan.

Afterwards, she continued to Kaohsiung for a research meeting with the distinguished Professor Chua-Chin Wang 王朝欽 (VLSI Design, Communication Interface Circuit Design, Circuit System Design).

Here, she learned about genuine and cooperation projects at the university level on innovation technologies from the ICT LAB, including the approach to optical data transmission instead of electrical, reducing the needed power through light. Later that day, she visited again the EXPO Taiwan Technology X Culture (臺灣文化科技大會).

On October 15, she was invited to partake the surprise inspection by the labour protection department OSHA at the project site Sun Rock (光源只石) operated by Taipower Company, close to the Taichung Harbour. The operators informed about progress, stagnation and new outlook on estimated benefits according to the EUI value .
With the deputy director for Labour Security, Chen Zhiqi (陳志祺), she also visits the training centre for offshore wind power engineers and inspectors at the Taiwan International Windpower Training Corporation Ltd (臺灣風能訓練股份有限公司). In Hsinchu, she met, among others, Vice President and General Director of Green Energy and Environment Research Laboratories James Wang. Before her departure, she also visited the Taiwan Museum of Taiwan History in Tainan, met with former TAP Travel Stipend recipients and Fellows and furthered the academic network at Trier’s partner universities, Tamkang [Foto Yu Fang 許友芳, Julian萬壹遵 IMG_0350] and NCCU.
