On 22 October 2024, the Research Center for East Asian Studies at Soochow University invited Dr Josie-Marie Perkuhn from TAP to give a guest lecture at the university. Under the title ‘Informal meeting Grounds: Multilevel exchanges between Taiwan and Germany’, she explained to the students the increasingly intensive interaction and cooperation between Taiwan and Germany in recent years.
She highlighted the growing informal exchange platforms between Taiwan and Germany and introduced the German-Taiwanese Society and the German-Taiwanese Dialogue Forum, both of which promote civil society exchange. Dr Perkuhn shared her experiences from the first German-Taiwanese dialogue meeting in Berlin and introduced the TAP project, which explores Taiwan's pioneering role in areas such as green energy, digital policy and democracy. The event inspired students to develop international perspectives and engage with transnational issues.
