Travel grant 2025

Trier University is awarding three travel grants in 2025 as part of the joint research project "TAP - Taiwan as a Pioneer".

The focus is on Taiwan-related research projects. Postdocs, doctoral students and outstanding Master's and Bachelor's students from all degree programmes and departments who wish to write an independent research project (or thesis) with a thematic focus on Taiwan are eligible to apply. The trip should be completed by 15 October 2025 and last at least eight weeks. The scholarship holder must submit a written report on the progress of the research funded by the scholarship by 15 November 2025 at the latest. The results of the research activity should be made available to the public, if possible, and presented at TAP on the website and in the network.

Your application for a travel grant must include the following documents

  • Cover letter stating your motivation
  • Project outline of the independent research project with details of the project, destination, duration of the trip and expected research results
  • Curriculum vitae in tabular form (max. two pages)
  • For BA and MA students, a complete transcript of records from previous studies (ToR, extract) and a current certificate of enrolment are sufficient
  • For doctoral candidates and postdocs, proof of the last academic degree must be submitted and, if available, a current certificate of enrolment
