Screen1900 Member: Uli Jung

Uli Jung studied German and English Studies at Universities in Aachen, Worcester MA, and Trier. He received the degree of master of arts (Magister Artium) from the University of Trier with a thesis on literary adaptations on film and a doctoral degree from the same university with a thesis on Dracula films. In the early 1990s he held teaching assignments at Clark University in Worcester, MA, and the University of Saarland in Saarbrücken. As of 1993 he has been teaching in the English Department of the University of Trier. Between 1998 and 2003 he participated in the research projects „Documentary Film in Germany, 1895-1918“ and „Travelling Cinema in Europe“. As of the 1980s he has been a freelance worker for the Cinémathèque of the City of Luxembourg for which he serves as general editor of its academic book series “Filmgeschichte international”.
