First semester information for the 2026 summer semester

  • Introductory event at the start of the semester:
    Monday, 13th April 2026 9:00–12:00 Uhr, HS 6

  • In the first two weeks (April 13–24, 2026), only the basic module will take place in the Master's program in Business Administration and Financial Management. All other modules in the subject of Business Administration will not begin until the third week of classes (starting April 27, 2026).

    EXCEPTION: Prof. Swoboda's "International Marketing Management" module will start on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.

  • Please register for the following event in PORTA: Event number 14202594: "Introductory event for the Master's in Business Administration and Financial Management"

  • With this registration, you will also be automatically transferred as a participant to Stud.IP, our teaching and learning platform (with a delay of up to one day).

  • Shortly before the start of the semester (beginning of April), you will find various information under "Files" and/or "Videos" in the above-mentioned event in Stud.IP.

General information

  • Registration for individual lectures/exercises/tutorials in PORTA is required in order to gain access to the Stud.IP teaching and learning platform. The documents for the courses are posted there by the lecturers.

  • Registration for exams at the end of the semester is mandatory. You can deregister up to one week before the respective exam date.

Basic Module

Two courses must be attended as part of the basic module:

  • Fundamentals of Business Administration – Theoretical Foundations (Course No. 14202462)
    Start: Monday, April 13, 2026 – various professorship
  • Research methods and statistical analyses (Statistic Refresher) (Course No. 14202590)
    Start: Friday, April 17, 2026 – Dr. Holger Steinmetz

As part of the basic module, students must complete an exam-relevant course assignment in the area of "Scientific Work and Empirical Methods," which accounts for 25% of the module grade. Further information, including scheduling details, will be provided during the first class session.

A 90-minute exam must be taken on the subject of "Fundamentals of Business Administration – Theoretical Foundations," which accounts for 75% of the module grade. Further information will be provided during the course.
