Details
Over the course of the last couple of years, artificial intelligence has changed research and scientific communication. AI has sent shockwaves through the academic world, and left universities and scientific journals scrambling to provide guidelines on ethical AI usage. Many scientists struggle with determining exactly if and how they should incorporate AI into their own work. This workshop will discuss how AI can be used in research and academic writing. We will discuss methodological opportunities, but also the ethical, legal, and practical aspects that need to be considered when using AI. We will look beyond the present and think about how AI could continue to shape research in the future.
In addition to an opening talk by an expert in the field of AI for science (speaker TBD), the workshop provides young researchers with the opportunity to discuss and share their insights into the topic, and reflect on the relevance of AI for their own research. Afterwards, we will present the results of our discussions. The workshop is also the perfect opportunity to connect with other doctoral students from varying subdisciplines of the humanities and social sciences. The workshop will be held in English to allow for the participation of international researchers.
