This French software editor develops collaborative workspaces tools and software. Its main product (MayeticVillage) allows companies and organisations to develop their own collaborative workspaces and offers all professional communities a true collaborative work tool. MayeticVillage collaborative workspaces were launched in the beginning of the year 2000.
The existing software and tools dedicated to the collaborative work are represented by traditional groupware technologies such as Lotus Notes or Microsoft Exchange. However, these tools remain complex to install and quite expensive for small and medium sized businesses. Therefore, the tool developed by this French company represents a significant alternative to the above mentioned solutions.
Today, this software editor wishes to develop some new functions to enrich his product, mayeticVillage. One of them is the implementation of a knowledge management tool that is able to identify the user’s areas of expertise and consequently provide a cartographical representation of their skills.
This SME does not have enough expertise in the development of knowledge management tools and is looking for a partner which has a proven know how in this field.
Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements:
The module to be developed should be able to analyse the documents content and to extract or synthesize some information that will permit :
- to detect the person(s) possessing an expertise on a subject thanks to the analysis of different existing publications ;
- to set up the knowledge cartography which will classify the different documents of a community according to knowledge themes. These themes may be derived from a predefined themes list or from a dynamic generation from the documents content.
