A French company specialised in sensory technology and applications for industry is interested in developing a new generation of sensors to detect and measure mono-compounds such as ozone.

 

The development of a new generation of cheaper and more advanced sensors could allow penetrating new markets such as chemical industry, environmentals (pollution detection), hygiene & safety.

 

Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements:

Sensors able to detect and measure mono-components that are currently present on the market (basically electrochemical cells and infrared detectors) are obsolete and expensive.

Atmospheric ozone detection thresholds currently fixed range from 100 to 200 ppb, thus a new generation of sensors should allow, in order to satisfy new markets’ demand, to detect and measure ozone presence 10 times lower.

New technologies which could be applied at the purpose of developing a new generation of sensors include:

1. Infrared/ UV

2. Laser

3. Optical fibres

4. Silicon-based detection technologies

5. Electrochemical micro-sensors (which seem to offer the most interesting opportunities of application).

 

The French company is interested in any kind of collaboration and partnership with other companies or laboratories specialised in the above-mentioned fields with the objective of investigating and co-developing a new mono-compound detection and measurement system.
