At present, ships have electronic equipment with GPS, DGPS, LORAN, DECCA, RADIOGONIOMETER, that indicate the coordinates where they are in every moment, radars that detect the objects by reflection of radio waves , electro acoustics of ultrasounds, to detect and see the bottom of the sea, HF, VHF, UHF, COMSAT, radio communications, automatic pilot to keep automatically the course of the boat, gyroscopics to indicate the course of the real navigation and delivery of signal to other equipments, Blue box, Fire Alarm, Management control with machines, etc.

But what the ship doesn´t have is a system that warns when the watch officer falls asleep or is absent for a while, during long maritime voyages, with the consequent danger that the ship could crash into an obstacle or run into a ditch, cases that occur occasionally in the Canaries.

 

Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements:

The system will work programming a limited time in the navigating bridge, and if the watching pilot aid doesn´t respond in time, it is activated an opto-acoustic alarm in the captain or patron cabin.

If after a programmed short time interval, the notice is not accepted, an opto-acoustic alarm will be activated the general alarm of the ship, warning about the danger to the whole crew.

The equipment should be supplied by 24v direct current of the board battery system or alternating current by external source, or both systems, not having access to the panel to connect or disconnect the equipment.

The unit could only be connected or disconnected with a switch with key. Circuits will be protected by internal fuse. Circuits would be supplied by 2 stabilized and thermally compensated regulators of 12 and 5 v, with protection by intensity limitation and high stability temperature, facing the variations of entry pressure, allowing to the same variations from 15 to 35 v.
