The EurIdentity Basic Module: Foundations of Europe as part of the EurIdentity certificate programme starts again!

The EurIdentity Certificate is starting again at Trier University at the beginning of the semester. The Basic Module developed jointly by UniGR is now available. Courses can also be taken as part of the Advanced Level!

The EurIdentity Certificate can also be taken at Trier University in the 2024 summer semester. As a joint project of the University of the Greater Region (UniGR) and its seven partner universities (RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau, University of Liège, Université de Lorraine, University of Luxembourg, Saarland University, Trier University, htw saar), a certificate in English has been created that is open to all students in the Greater Region.

The additional qualification EurIdentity Certificate enables all students of the UniGR partner universities, regardless of their field of study and qualification level, to deepen their knowledge of Europe and their intercultural competences . The EurIdentity Certificate consists of Basic Module and Advanced Level.

The "EurIdentity Basic Module:Foundations of Europe" (5 ECTS*) is available as an online course independent of the timetable . With 12 different sections, it offers a broad overview ofthe institutions and core policy areas of the European Union, the history, literature and art of Europe, European identity and European law through to EU external relations and climate change issues. Each of the twelve topics is presented in English by different lecturers from UniGR's seven partner universities in videos that can be accessed at any time.

As part of the Advanced Level, you will deepen your knowledge of Europe. Selected courses can be taken at Trier University and/or at the partner universities. Links to the respective course catalogues and further information can be found here and on the UniGR website.

Enrolment at Trier University:

All interested students at Trier University can enrol for the EurIdentity Certificate. Many students have the option of choosing the Basic Module (as part of their degree programme or via the free elective area in PORTA (13502321 EurIdentity Basic Level: Foundations of Europe). Please refer to your study plan or module handbook to find out whether the free elective area is firmly integrated into your degree programme! All others can acquire the certificate as an additional qualification. If it is not possible to register via PORTA, please contact Prof. Schild(schilduni-trierde). ERASMUS students and doctoral candidates can also take the module, please contact Prof. Schild.
