We will be happy to help you getting through the enrolment process at Trier University. We will also provide lots of useful information concerning formalities with public authorities that need to be taken care of within the first few days after your arrival.

Enrolment and TUNIKA
After enrolling as a doctoral student or guest scholar at Trier University, you will receive your TUNIKA (student ID) from the Admissions Office.
Public Authorities
Resident’s Registration Office
Within two weeks of moving into your accommodation, you must register with the responsible Resident’s Registration Office.
Immigration office
Depending on your nationality and length of stay in Germany, you may need to contact the immigration office for a residence permit.

To facilitate payment transactions, you should open a checking account at one of the local institutions in Trier.
