As venerable as the buildings of the ancient Roman city – as sparkling as the world-famous Moselle wine: the University of Trier is both an old and a young university. Located in the heart of Europe, it has developed into a high-performance, research-active and internationally networked university.
As a member of the University of the Greater Region, it offers students and researchers the opportunity to study and conduct research simultaneously in Metz, Nancy, Luxembourg, Liège, Kaiserslautern and Saarbrücken.
13,000 students and 1,400 employees appreciate the short distances between lecture halls and facilities and the personal atmosphere on the green, artfully landscaped campus overlooking the Moselle River.
How do others see Trier? The participants of the International Summer Course are enthusiastic and reveal their excursion tips for the city.
Those who are part of the International Summer Course (IFK) at the University of Trier get around quite a bit. From the personal reception of the mayor in the city hall to the university vineyard, city and campus tours to Luxembourg and Metz. The IFK-Orga-Team of the university has packed the four weeks stay with German courses, scientific lectures and excursions – impressions of life and studying in Trier.
Some of the participants have already identified their very own favorite place in Trier. Like Nikolas from Colombia. The lively German talent likes the vineyards around Trier best: "I can go for a walk there, enjoy nature and not only drink a little wine, but also photosynthesize," he reveals with a broad grin. Ten participants reveal ten places that you can't have been to Trier without visiting.
