There are several airports near Trier:

• Frankfurt (Main) (approx. 3.5 hours to Trier)
• Luxembourg (approx. 1.5 hours to Trier)
• Cologne/Bonn (approx. 3.5 hours to Trier)

We recommend these three airports if you are travelling from North or South America, Asia, Oceania or Africa. For shorter distances, e.g. from a European country, you can also use the smaller airports "Saarbrücken" or "Frankfurt Hahn".
There is a bus connection from Luxembourg airport to Trier main station. From Frankfurt and Cologne-Bonn airports you can take the train to Trier main station.
 

If you are travelling by train from a European country, you can also find the train connections on the Deutschen Bahn website or on the homepage of the railway company in your home country. You can buy a discount card ("Bahncard 25") which reduces the price of each ticket by 25%. There is also a three-month free trial period. You can book tickets or access information, e.g. about delays, via the Deutsche Bahn app "DB Navigator".

Attention:
It is possible that train connections to Trier from an airport you are using to travel to Germany may be interrupted due to road works or damage caused by natural disasters, for example. You can find more up-to-date information here.
