Two to three tuition-free two-semester study places

Target group
Students of all subjects who have completed four semesters of their BA or ZP in law at the start of the program. Students in MA programs must register in advance with Mr. Proost at the International Office.

Program objective

In cooperation with the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF), the DAAD awards scholarships for short-term research stays in Korea as part of the “Summer Institute Program.” These stays can be completed at universities and research institutes throughout the country.

Who can apply?

This program offers young graduates (bachelor's degree or higher) and doctoral candidates from all disciplines an immediate insight into Korean culture and science.

What is funded?

The stay, which is fixed for the period July/August, is divided into the following sections:
 

Introductory seminar with excursions to learn about the country, introductory language course, and culinary experiences.

Approximately two-month research stay at universities and non-university research institutes.

Duration of funding

The scholarships are awarded for a period of two months.
The scholarship cannot be extended.

Scholarship benefits

The scholarship granted by the Korean side in the amount of approximately EUR 1,000 per month covers the costs of living in Korea (subject to change). The DAAD provides a travel allowance and takes out health, accident, and liability insurance abroad for the duration of the scholarship.
