Exchange with National Chengchi University, Taipei

Two fee-free exchange places for preferably two semesters. Participants have the option of taking full-time Mandarin courses, combining Mandarin studies in part with specialised studies, or taking specialised courses only (prerequisite for participation in specialised courses is proof of sufficient Chinese language skills, comparable to TOCFL Superior or HSK Level 4, as well as English language skills at Level B2).

Target group
Students of all disciplines with four completed semesters of BA or intermediate examinations in law at the start of the programme. Basic knowledge of the Chinese language must be available at the time of application. A grade point average of at least 2.5 is required for participation in the programme (Law students please consult Mr. Proost at the International Office).

Exchange with National Chengchi University, Taipei

Two fee-free exchange places for preferably two years of study and practical training at the National Chengchi University in Taipei
For students of German as a Second and Foreign Language (MA and additional certificate DaF/DaZ) and Sinology, one exchange place is available free of charge for a study and practice year at the National Chengchi University in Taipei.

Target group
MA students and students in the additional certificate DaF/DaZ (modules 1-3 in the MA and PS I-III in the additional certificate must be successfully completed) who have sufficient knowledge of English. This knowledge should be documented by a language test from the University Language Centre, a TOEFL ibT test (at least 80 points) or other suitable proof. Knowledge of Chinese is an advantage, but not absolutely necessary.

Huayu Enrichment Scholarship (HES) for Language Studies in Taiwan

The aim of the programme offered by the Taiwanese Ministry of Education (MoE) is to enable people with German citizenship to study in Taiwan for the purpose of learning Chinese or improving their language skills.

Target group
German citizens who are at least 18 years old and who would like to spend six to twelve months studying Chinese at a university language centre in Taiwan; no previous knowledge of the language is required.

Taiwan Scholarship for a full course of study

The aim of the programme offered by the Taiwanese Ministry of Education (MoE) is to enable German citizens to pursue a full course of study in Taiwan.

German citizens with higher education entrance qualification and graduates of all disciplines

Taiwan Summer Institute Programme – Short-term Scholarships

The aim of the programme is to offer an insight into the Taiwanese cultural and scientific landscape in cooperation with the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) in Taiwan. The stay is possible at universities and research institutions in Taiwan. This scholarship is valid for two months in August and September.

Target group
Students, graduates and doctoral candidates in the natural and engineering sciences as well as in the humanities and social sciences (with the exception of the respective regional philologies and sciences such as German studies, Sinology, Asian studies, etc.). Applications are also possible without German citizenship under certain conditions.
