Applications now open at Trier University in Germany

Starting 6 May 2024, prospective students can submit their applications online. Exciting and new degree programmes expand the range of master's programmes taught in English.

The application phase begins 6 May 2024 for Trier University’s winter semester 2024/25, with prospective students being able to submit their application online. Courses include more than 100 bachelor’s and master’s programmes across approximately 30 fields of study, including languages, business, informatics, and environmental sciences.

Range of courses

While bachelor's programmes are instructed in German, Trier University now offers eleven English-taught Master's programmes (ETMs), ranging from Applied Statistics to the our two newest additions, a Master of Science in Sustainability Management and Economics and a Master of Arts in English Linguistics. Offered as of winter semester 2024/25, the Sustainability Management and Economics master’s degree combines topics from business administration, economics, environmental sciences, sociology, and business informatics. Dates and documents

International applicants from EU-countries who want to study an unrestricted admission programme, need to upload their documents to the online portal before 15 September to begin in winter semester 2024/25. Prospective students from non-EU countries must act swiftly, ensuring their documents are uploaded by 31 May 2024. For admission restricted courses, all applicants must provide their completed application by 15 July 2025. Find out more about how to apply as an international student.

Applicants must demonstrate sufficient language skills in the course language, usually German or English. Successful applicants receive admission for two semesters, allowing flexibility for those navigating lengthy visa procedures. Consequently, applicants can enrol for the subsequent semester if required.

Courses for winter semester 2024/25 start on 21 October 2024. New degree programmes

The winter semester also brings the start of five new programmes, including the German-taught bachelor’s programmes "Health Sciences", "International Legal Studies" and a master's programme in "Archaeological Sciences".

Furthermore, four established programmes are receiving thematic enhancements, notably in the bachelor's programme "Modern Chinese Studies" and the bachelor's and master's programmes in "Business Informatics and Artificial Intelligence."
