At the meeting of the VTU Human Resources Working Group held at the Park Plaza Hotel on September 11, 2018, Prof. Dr. Thorsten Semrau presented the participants with current scientific findings on the topic "Bonuses, Rewards & Co: Opportunities and Challenges."

In his lecture, Prof. Semrau first discussed what research has revealed about the effectiveness of bonuses in improving work performance, punctuality, and attendance at the workplace. He also presented factors that significantly influence their effectiveness, such as the fairness of bonus and reward systems as perceived by employees. Additionally, the possible side effects of bonuses and rewards, such as their impact on collaboration and support within teams, were also addressed.
