Orientation days – Faculty introductions and advising

This page has the information you need about the introductory events and advising sessions for the English taught masters programmes. As there may be additional information sessions and/or changes to the programme up until 07.04.2026 please be sure to check back again later!

On the Orientation Days, staff and students in yellow vests will be on campus to help you find the right room or lecture hall. Campus maps will also help you find your way around.

Do you have any questions about starting your studies at Trier University?

Simply write to us at losgehtsuni-trierde

Our tip: in addition to the introductory events for your degree programme(s), take advantage of as many offers in the other events programme as you like.

Does Trier Unversity offer pre-university/foundation courses?

There are no general pre-university/foundation courses at Trier University but a pre-university course in "Formale Grundlagen der Informatik" for students in:

  • Computer Science and Business Informatics
  • Language and Text Technology or Computational Linguistics and Digital Humanities

It's voluntary, but we recommend it As iit takes place parallel to a number of events on the orientation days, you can decide for yourself to what extent you want to take part in this course. Of course, you can easily switch between events. This will also be discussed on the first day of the course. Further information on this page on this page (in German).

Do I have to register in advance for the Introductory events?

No, you can just go to the event without registering. There is room for everyone.

How do I find the room where the introductory event will take place?

On the Orientation Days, staff and students in yellow vests will be on campus to help you find the right room or lecture hall. Campus maps will also help you find your way around.

What if I can't be in Trier for the Orientation Days?

Before or even after the O-days, you can contact the departmental academic advisor(s) with your questions.
The contact details can be found at fsb.uni-trier.de.
