More than 10k students study at the University of Trier.
We excel in research, think across disciplines, and place people and society at the heart of what we do:
● Focus: We investigate key future-oriented issues surrounding transformation, resilience, digitality, and diversity.
● European Spirit: Our location in the heart of Europe and our cross-border projects make the university unique.
● Campus Life: Short distances across a green campus and an open culture.
● City Life: Germany’s oldest city looks forward to becoming your new home base!
Trier is your kind of place
With its Roman monuments, location on the Moselle, and manageable size, Trier offers a very pleasant environment for your studies. At the same time, the city is situated at the border triangle where Luxembourg, France, and Belgium meet, opening up additional opportunities for leisure and employment—for instance, in Luxembourg.
Your study options:
With over 100 academic programs (ranging from Classical Studies to Business Informatics), the choice is vast. Diversity and interdisciplinary learning are top priorities. There are many practice-oriented teaching formats—such as in Environmental Sciences, Business Administration, or History—where field trips, projects, and hands-on components play a key role.
Trier University offers several master's courses taught entirely in English.
